Naughty British TV

Tuesday, May 16th, 2006

The UK Channel 4 is supposedly in hot water because of a late-night promo that featured topless women in thongs making out. A media watchdog group called the spot “demeaning” and criticized the channel for not carrying a warning. We’re shocked, shocked that there was lesbo nudity on British TV. Anybody have a link?

Getting Committed?

Wednesday, May 3rd, 2006

(Via Queerty) The Women’s Entertainment Network is looking for gay couples who are planning a commitment ceremony before Jun 28, 2006 for a new reality TV show. Says the announcement: “Cameras will follow the lucky couples during the final preparations of their commitment ceremony, the actual ceremony, as well as the reception.” So you know, […]

Michelle Rodriguez Has Been Busy

Monday, May 1st, 2006

The Lost actress, and hot Girlfight star spent 65 hours in a Hawaiian jail last week for a drunk driving charge from last year. (She chose jail over community service which is really badass or really silly or both.) But who cares about incarceration when you’ve got hot lesbo pics to show. The ever-sketchy News […]

Ellen Wins Again

Monday, May 1st, 2006

Ellen DeGeneres picked up her second Emmy for Best Talk Show Host and third for Best Talk Show at the Daytime Emmy Awards on Friday. Someone at YouTube’s got up a clip of her thanking her fans and crew, and then proclaiming her big gay love to girlfriend Portia de Rossi. If you want to […]

Lily Tomlin in Metro Weekly

Friday, April 28th, 2006

We caught the Tribeca Film Festival’s outdoor screening of Nine to Five last night, and we’re currently crushing hard on Lily, Dolly, and Jane. So we count it as fate then that today we read Metro Weekly’s interview with Tomlin, who’ll be costarring in Robert Altman’s Prairie Home Companion this summer. In addition to revealing […]

Rosie’s New Gig

Friday, April 28th, 2006

We haven’t been this excited about The View, well, ever—news leaked that Rosie O’Donnell will be replacing Meredith Viera when Viera moves over to the Today show in September. We’re not sure what this says about the long-term prospects of The View, but we’ll tune if only to watch Rosie seriously mess with Star Jones […]

Spiritually Uplifting TV

Tuesday, April 25th, 2006

Our favorite part from the NY Times review of the Here! made-for-TV movie In Her Line of Fire, about a lesbian Secret Service agent (Mariel Hemingway) who falls for the hot press secretary after the vice president’s plane crashes in the jungle:
Meaningful looks are exchanged as the vice president smirks. He pulls Delaney aside and […]

Rosie’s on Logo

Thursday, April 20th, 2006

Logo has picked up Rosie O’Donnell’s sketch comedy show for a six-episode run sometime next year. (Comedian Julie Goldman is in the cast!) As befitting O’Donnell’s subtle and nuanced style, the show will be entitled The Big Gay Show. We’re so not kidding.

This Weekend on Court TV

Friday, April 14th, 2006

On Saturday night, the ACLU will air an episode in its continuing series, the Freedom Files, on Court TV. This segment (that’s an ad for it there on the right) looks at how gay and lesbian families are denied basic legal rights when it comes to child custody, medical decision-making, and inheritance. Look out for […]

Bound on DVD

Thursday, April 6th, 2006

We learned on Susiebright.com that the current DVD edition of the lesbian noir Bound is officially no longer in release, which means whatever copies there are in stores, is all that’s left. (Bright, you’ll remember, was a sex consultant on the film, has a cameo, and chimes on the DVD commentary track.) Get it while […]
