More on the Marriage Decision

Gays lost a 4-2 decision in the New York State Court of Appeals which found that the state constitution does not require NY to recognize gay marriage. The majority found that the state legislature could “reasonably believe that it is better, other things being equal, for children to grow up with both a mother and a father.” There was a ringing dissent from two of the judges, but the issue now heads back to a fractious state legislature in Albany. And things run so smoothly there, we’re sure they’ll get to it any day now. Have faith, all you betrothed. There’s always New Jersey.
