L Word Casting
AfterEllen points us to a TV Guide report that Marlee Matlin will be joined the L Word cast next season for 11 episodes. She’ll play an artist who’s got the hots for Bette. Good for the L Word, but is it good for Marlee? The lady does have an Oscar, after all.

Is it wrong to admit I envy Marlee’s ability to not hear TLW’s horrible, embarassing dialogue? Let alone the awful din that is Betty?

Marlee had cochlear implant surgery some time ago, so she has hearing now.
I am still trying to figure out what is keeping this show on the air. I know that Marlee’s talent will most likely be wasted, as that of the other actors, on this show.
Whatever pays the bills, I guess…

Yeah, definately slumming it for Marlee. But I guess it might introduce her to a whole other demographics and new generation of viewers.
But I doubt all the acting chops in the world will make much odds if the writing and production values stays crappy…sigh…
I have to admit tho, that I’m intrigued by the idea of Jennifer Beals and Marlee Matin together. They could sizzle

Marlee Matlin does not have a cochlear implant. I don’t know where you think you’re getting your information. She wears a hearing aid and can hear extremely faintly. Without her hearing aid she can hear nothing.
