(Via DailyKos) ThinkProgress has up a link to the new guidelines for abstinence-only programs applying for government grants from the Department of Health and Human Services. They define abstinence as “…choosing not to engage in sexual activity until marriage.” For further clarification, sexual activity is defined as “…any type of genital contact or sexual stimulation between two persons including, but not limited to, sexual intercourse.” [Ed: Ah, the wonders of human sexuality brought to you by the federal government.] The kicker however, comes later when the creepy little committee who wrote this stuff comes up with this:

Throughout the entire curriculum, the term “marriage” must be defined as “only a legal union between one man and one woman as a husband and wife, and the word ’spouse’ refers only to a person of the opposite sex who is a husband or a wife.”

So all you gay people out there…just say no. For the rest of your life.
