Lesbian Mom and Her New Daughter
We caught this editorial from Oregon’s Register-Guard, written by a lesbian mother of a trans son, who’s now living as a woman. She offers a surprising, moving look at her own prejudices and fears, writing: “I find myself swallowing a lot of words—the exact words I fended off from my own mother when I so joyously proclaimed my lesbianism to the world.”

Actually it’s written by the lesbian mother of a trans-daughter. A transwoman is not a son.

For clarity’s sake, we actually followed her use of identity terms, figuring she would know best. She describes herself as “…the mother of a transgender son.”
